About Payslip IQ Australia
Independent, plain-English help with Australian pay - written by a named person, checked against primary sources.
Who runs this site
Payslip IQ Australia was founded by Rocco Clayfield, Founder and Editor. He writes every guide and report published here and checks each rate, threshold and cap against its primary source before it goes live. Pages carry his byline, a published date and an updated date, so you can see who stands behind a number and when it was last checked.
What the site does
Payslip IQ Australia turns the public rules on Australian pay, tax, super and payslips into practical calculators and guides. It helps employees check a payslip line by line, migrants judge whether a move to Australia adds up, hourly and casual workers convert a rate into real take-home pay, contractors compare rates against an employee salary, and employers check a payslip against Fair Work requirements.
Why it exists
Understanding your pay should not require an accountant. Most people want three things: what actually lands in the bank account, why it changed, and whether an offer is fair. Most calculators answer none of that well - they hide their assumptions, skip HELP or STSL repayments and super, or quietly run a financial year out of date. This site shows its working, cites its sources and states plainly when an official figure has not been published yet.
How the numbers are kept right
Every figure for the 2026-27 financial year sits in one dated configuration rather than being typed into individual pages, so a single verified change updates the whole site. Calculation logic is covered by automated tests against known worked examples. The full process, including how corrections are handled, is in the editorial and accuracy policy, the methodology and the sources.
What this site is not
It is not the ATO or Fair Work, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. It does not provide tax, legal, financial or migration advice, and it does not hold a financial services licence or act as a registered tax agent. Results are estimates to inform your own decisions. For anything significant, speak to a qualified professional.
No ads, no affiliates
The calculators are free, carry no advertising and no affiliate links, and no third party pays to influence a figure or a recommendation on this site.
Corrections
Spotted something that looks wrong? Report it through the contact page with the page address and what you believe is incorrect. It gets checked against the primary source, and if it is wrong it gets fixed and redated.
