Editorial & accuracy policy

Who writes this site
Every guide, report and calculator explainer on Payslip IQ Australia is written and maintained by Rocco Clayfield, Founder and Editor. Pages carry a byline, a published date and an updated date. Nothing here is published anonymously, and nothing is published under a fictional author or persona.
Where the figures come from
Rates, thresholds and caps are taken from the primary source, not from other calculators or news coverage:
- Income tax rates, PAYG withholding, Medicare levy, the Medicare levy surcharge, HELP and STSL repayment thresholds, superannuation guarantee, contribution caps and the maximum contribution base: the Australian Taxation Office.
- National minimum wage, casual loading, award increases and payslip obligations: the Fair Work Commission and the Fair Work Ombudsman.
- Anything set in law rather than guidance: legislation.gov.au.
The full list is on the sources page, and every calculator links its own sources beneath the result.
How the numbers are held
All figures for a financial year sit in a single dated configuration rather than being typed into individual pages, so one verified change updates every calculator and page at once. The calculation logic is covered by automated tests that assert known worked examples for both the current and prior financial year. The method is documented in the methodology.
Dates and freshness
The site currently uses the 2026-27 financial year. Where a figure for the current year has not yet been published by the ATO or set at Budget, the page says so plainly and shows the most recent legislated figure instead of guessing. Every 1 July the whole site is rolled to the new year after each new value is checked against its source.
What this site is not
Payslip IQ Australia is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Australian Taxation Office, the Fair Work Ombudsman or any government agency. It provides general information and estimates only, not tax, legal, financial or migration advice, and it does not hold an Australian financial services licence or act as a registered tax agent. Results may differ from your employer's payroll or your final ATO assessment.
Corrections
If a figure or statement is wrong, report it through the contact page with the page address and what you believe is incorrect. Reports are checked against the primary source. Where a correction is made, the page is updated and its updated date changes. Where a report turns out to be right about an ambiguity rather than an error, the wording is clarified.
Independence and money
The calculators are free and carry no advertising, no affiliate links and no paid placement. No third party pays to influence a figure, a ranking or a recommendation on this site.
