Founder and Editor, Payslip IQ Australia
Rocco Clayfield is the founder and editor of Payslip IQ Australia. He built the site because working out what actually lands in an Australian bank account - after PAYG withholding, the Medicare levy, HELP or STSL repayments and superannuation - is harder than it should be, and most calculators either hide their assumptions or quietly run a year out of date.
He writes and maintains every guide, calculator explainer and report published here, and personally checks each figure against the primary source before it goes live: the ATO for tax, withholding, Medicare and super; the Fair Work Commission and Fair Work Ombudsman for minimum wages, casual loading and payslip obligations; and legislation.gov.au where a rate is set in law rather than guidance.
Payslip IQ Australia is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Australian Taxation Office, the Fair Work Ombudsman or any government agency, and it does not sell tax, financial or migration advice.
What Rocco is responsible for
- Writing and updating all guides, reports and calculator explainers
- Verifying every rate, threshold and cap against the ATO, Fair Work and legislation.gov.au before publication
- Rolling the whole site to the new financial-year configuration each 1 July
- Reviewing and correcting anything a reader reports as wrong
How the figures are checked
Every rate, threshold and cap used across the site sits in one dated configuration file for the 2026-27 financial year, and each value is checked against its primary source before publication. The full method is set out in the editorial policy, the calculation methodology and the source list.
Corrections
If a number on this site looks wrong, report it through the contact page. Corrections are checked against the primary source and, where a figure changes, the page and its updated date change with it.
